POLARIZED LENSES SEE HOW OTHERS DON'T
Polarized light is simply a fancy term for light reflected from a surface.  Polarized light is all around us.  It's the glare in a window, the shine off a motorcycle's chrome, the blinding ripples on a lake's surface.

IMAGE NEATNESS
Ray-Ban polarized lenses boast a perfectly layered construction of glass, optical-grade adhesive and polarized film. The result is a top notch lens. Vision throuh Ray-Ban polarized glass lenses is the neatest possible. In fact, our ABBE number, whihc is a measure of neatness, reaches 58.40, so higher than any other lenses material.
POLARIZING EFFICIENCY
With Ray-Ban lenses, more than 99.9% of polarized horizontal light waves are blocked. And our polarizing axis is positioned with an unsurpassed precision alignment within +/-1, which is well above what law requires (+/-5) and more efficient than most competitors.

PROTECTION & COMFORT
Protection is important. That's why our lenses have a barrier between the external glass and the polarized film. You get 100% blockage of UV raddiation to 400nm, exceeding US/EU norms (380nm). Plus, due to the variety of colors of our polarized lenses, betwwen 85-88% of visible light is absorbed by the lens to protect your eyes against annoying glares. Or lens also render the reflection of visible light hitting from the back to below 1% and less than 10% blue light transmission. Maximum protection to totally comfort your eyes.

LONG-LASTING DURATION
We know you'll experience your share of bumps and bruises. That's why the glass in our polarized lenses has naturally superior scratch-resistane and superior rigidity. An added laryer of catalyzed resin between the lens and frame protects internal layers from water, sweat, cosmetics, and other residue. Lens quality doesn't mean a thing if it doesn't last.
RESISTANCE & SAEFETY
In 1962s, ten years before the FDA* imposed safety regulations, Ray-Ban began to test their lenses for durability, and in the process, set the industry benchmark for impact resistance. Our lenses undergo an advanced chemical harending process, rather than a thermal hardening process, and withstand the Drop Ball Test - a 5/8 inch steel ball dropped onto the lens from a height of 50 inches - which makes the optical glass impact resistant even at the lowest thickness we have of 1.80mm. Plus, the frames are made with ultra-light metal alloys, keeping them aalways comfortable.
